Terms of Use

Last updated October 3, 2026

These terms apply to your use of statsforpsychology.com (“the site,” “we,” “us”). By using the site, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

What the Site Is

Stats for Psychology is an educational resource that explains statistical methods used in psychology research. Its examples use simulated data, and its calculators give estimates based on the formulas and approximations described on each page and on the About page.

Not Professional Advice

Nothing on the site is statistical consulting, research supervision, or medical, clinical or legal advice. The site can't see your data, your design or your circumstances. You're responsible for the analyses you run and the decisions you make. For work that carries real weight, such as a thesis, a submitted paper or a clinical decision, check your choices with an advisor, a statistician or another qualified professional.

Accuracy

We work hard to keep the site accurate, and the Methodology section describes exactly how content is checked. Even so, we can't promise that every page is complete, current or free of errors. If you find a mistake, please tell us at support@statsforpsychology.com.

Using the Content

The site's text, examples, charts and code are owned by Stats for Psychology or used with permission, and are protected by copyright. You may:

Please don't republish whole pages or substantial parts of them, sell the content, or present it as your own, without written permission. Quotations from published sources belong to their authors and publishers.

Acceptable Use

Don't use the site in a way that breaks the law, interferes with its operation or security, tries to get into accounts or systems you're not authorized to use, or copies the site at scale by automated means.

No Warranty

The site is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of the site or reliance on its content. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
